FAQs
How to apply and enrol?
As the unit offerings are designated to be intensive in nature, we are only accepting a limited number of 30 to 40 students per batch, who already possess basic research and analytical skills.
Malaysia Immersion & Pathways offers several immersion study units over non-standard semesters, Winter and Summer. Contact hours include three weeks of intensive immersive learning through seminars, day trips and overnight field trips.
Currently, AMU2455 Special Topic in Social Science are offered during the following months:
1. Winter (June/July)
2. Summer A (November/December)
3. Summer B/T1-57 (January/February)
Please see How to apply or enrol? for information on this process.
Students need to have completed a total of 48 credit points or two (2) semesters of any Bachelors Degree program and a WAM of 50.
However, it is possible for students who are in Year 1 (Semester 2) to apply based on projected completion of their second semester prior to unit commencement.
Assessments include a pre-departure essay, a group presentation, an e-folio and a final essay. For more information, check out the unit's handbook.
We do not advise enrolling in this unit if you have already enrolled in another summer unit. This is because 100% attendance during the two week immersion period is mandatory (a hurdle) for passing this unit.
Field trips and the exact locations will change every semester. Please contact us for the latest information or attend one of our Briefings for updated information on locations.
Students will pay the standard school-based elective unit fee. There are no additional program fees. Accommodation during overnight field trips and transportation costs will be paid for by Malaysia Immersion & Pathways department. To calculate your elective fee, please refer to this link.
