South East Asia Community Observatory (SEACO), School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia - Staff Engagement: Malaysia Day Scavenger Walk

On 17 September 2026, In celebration of Malaysia Day, SEACO brought colleagues together for a Malaysia Day Scavenger Walk, at  Taman Rekreasi Sungai Kapeh, Segamat , providing an opportunity for staff to step away from their usual routines, explore their surroundings and celebrate the spirit of togetherness.

Dressed in colours inspired by the Malaysian flag, staff were organised into teams and took part in a series of challenges involving the discovery and photography of 10 selected items along the walk.

Beyond the activity itself, the Scavenger Walk provided a relaxed setting for colleagues to connect, share conversations and laughter, enjoy the outdoors and support one another outside their usual workplace environment.

The activity highlighted how simple shared experiences can create meaningful connections. A walk, a conversation, a moment of laughter and a shared challenge provided opportunities for colleagues to interact in a different setting while creating lasting memories together.

More than a celebration, the Malaysia Day Scavenger Walk reflected the importance of connection, friendship, unity and shared experiences within the SEACO workplace.

Through staff engagement activities such as this, SEACO continues to create opportunities for colleagues to connect beyond their day-to-day responsibilities and contribute to a positive and collaborative workplace culture.

As SEACO continues its journey, these shared moments serve as a reminder that a strong workplace is built not only through the work we do, but also through the relationships and experiences we create together.

Selamat Hari Malaysia!
