Public and Community Involvement and Engagement
About our approach to public and community engagement
“Research done with and for our community, not just in it.”
At SEACO, people are at the heart of the research. For more than fifteen years we have worked side by side with the people of Segamat, Johor—listening, learning, and building a population health research platform shaped as much by community insight as by scientific enquiry.
Public and community engagement (PCE) is not an add-on to that work; it is the foundation that makes our research trustworthy, relevant, and useful. To ensure that our research is not only scientifically rigorous but also meaningful and beneficial, SEACO places a strong emphasis on ethical PCE. Beyond supporting researchers in engaging with their communities, our team actively promotes the concept and practice of public and community engagement to all our partners and collaborators.
