Opportunities for Students

SEACO is a training ground for the next generation of researchers. It is a rare place to learn where research actually happens — with communities, and on real longitudinal data. Students can engage with us in three main ways:

• Postgraduate research. PhD and Master's projects hosted on, or drawing on, the SEACO platform and supervised within the Department of Global Population Health. See our current postgraduate research.
• Internships. Hands-on placements with the SEACO team, including through Monash University Malaysia's internship programmes, giving students direct experience of population health research and community engagement.
• Field research training. Structured field schools and methods programmes — including Field Method in Anthropology — that give students first-hand experience of community-based and population research in Segamat.
