Research
SEACO is a platform for studying health at the population level — and, increasingly, for understanding how health and development shape one another. Based in Segamat, Johor, and part of Monash University Malaysia, the platform offers researchers a rare combination: a well-characterised, multi-ethnic population of tens of thousands of people followed over time, the field infrastructure and local relationships to study them well, and a shared commitment to research that gives something back to the communities who make it possible.
As we build SEACO 2.0 — the next decade of the platform — our research is organised around four commitments: to be genuinely multidisciplinary, deeply community-embedded, activate more than a decade of longitudinal data, and driven by real-world impact.
Research collaboration
SEACO welcomes new research partners, funders, students and data users from every discipline.
To discuss bringing a project to the platform, see Collaborate and partner with us or contact the SEACO team at mum.seaco@monash.edu.
