Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an increasingly important area of study due to its growing impact across all sectors, including finance, healthcare, governance, and compliance. This course, titled AI Governance for Business Leaders, is designed to introduce participants to core AI concepts, risks, and governance strategies without requiring technical expertise. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of how AI systems work, how to interpret model outputs, and how to evaluate ethical and regulatory considerations. This course meets the emerging need for decision makers to effectively engage with AI technologies in policy, compliance, and strategy contexts.
Incentives available for groups and teams of four or more attending open enrollment programs
This course is ideal for non-technical professionals, particularly those working in central banks, financial regulators, compliance, legal, and audit units. Participants should have mid-to senior-level experience in decision-making roles, as the course is designed to support strategic oversight of AI systems. Whether you are responsible for procurement, supervision, or governance, this course offers practical guidance to help you navigate AI-driven tools and proposals confidently.
The primary aim of this programme is to equip participants with the knowledge to critically engage with AI solutions and make informed governance decisions. Participants will learn to assess risks, understand key concepts in explainability and fairness, and apply appropriate oversight strategies. This course also aims to reduce the communication gap between technical and non-technical teams, supporting better policy alignment and risk management.
The program includes:
Ir. Dr. Manjeevan Singh Seera is an Associate Professor at the School of Business, Monash University Malaysia, and a registered professional engineer with extensive expertise spanning machine learning, predictive analytics, AI governance, and sustainable technology applications. He holds a PhD in Computational Intelligence from Universiti Sains Malaysia and brings both academic rigour and industry-facing practice to every engagement.
In this programme, Dr. Manjeevan leads participants through the full arc of AI literacy for governance — from demystifying how AI and machine learning models function, to equipping decision makers with practical tools for evaluating model outputs and assessing explainability. He facilitates the programme's risk and ethics modules, guiding participants through real-world AI failure cases and structured scenario discussions, and anchors the final day's exploration of governance frameworks and the evolving regulatory landscape.
Dr. Manjeevan has a strong track record of delivering executive training for financial institutions and regulatory bodies, helping senior professionals bridge the gap between technical AI capabilities and strategic oversight responsibilities. His approach is deliberately non-technical in delivery whilst remaining analytically grounded — making complex concepts accessible and immediately applicable for leaders in compliance, risk, legal, and policy functions.
Beyond the classroom, his research contributions span intelligent systems, energy analytics, and responsible AI, and he is recognised for translating cutting-edge developments into practical organisational guidance. Participants in this programme benefit not only from his academic depth but from the applied, business-oriented perspective he brings to every module.
