Introduction to Carbon & GHG Emissions Accounting and Management
Carbon and greenhouse gases (GHGs) emissions accounting and management has become an increasingly important business priority due to the global initiative to address climate change, regulatory requirements, and investor expectations. Malaysia has introduced the National Sustainability Reporting Framework (NSRF) to align with international sustainability standard, as a crucial preparation tool for Malaysian exporters to comply with European Union (EU) carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM)’s requirement. As a result, it has become a business imperative for organizations to measure, manage, reduce and report their GHG emissions based on frameworks such as GHG Protocol and ISO 14064-1.
This course, titled ‘Introduction to Carbon & GHG Emissions Accounting and Management' is designed to introduce participants to a practical and structured approach to gain a foundational understanding of identification, categorization, quantification, management and reduction of GHGs, which are essential to achieving business sustainability and net-zero emissions by 2050.
