2026 Fellows
Lau Wee Ming
Dr Weeming Lau is a senior lecturer, medical educator and physician clinically trained in Internal and Respiratory Medicine at the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Her educational interests centre on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its transformative potential in higher education. As a 2026–2027 Education Academy Fellow, she is leading a cross-campus initiative titled Embedding AI in Curricula to Build Industry-Relevant Capabilities. Her work focuses on integrating AI as a collaborative and ethical tool in learning and teaching, fostering partnerships among staff, students, and industry to bridge theory and practice across disciplines.
Ir. Dr Izni Zahidi
Ir. Dr Izni Zahidi is a Civil Engineering academic with over a decade of experience spanning academia and industry in the areas of water and the environment. Her work integrates data-driven methodologies such as remote sensing, Geographic Information Systems and predictive modelling with community insights to inform high-level decision-making for climate-resilient development. As a 2026–2027 Education Academy Fellow, her project focuses on transforming feedback delivery through serious games to enhance both student learning and educator practice. This initiative aims to strengthen feedback literacy and foster authentic, decision-driven learning experiences across disciplines.
2025 Fellows
Dr Nadiah Ahmad
A lecturer and deputy head of education (immersive education) at School of Pathways and Immersion, Monash University Malaysia. With this fellowship, my aim is to better understand MUM’s current institutional landscape for inclusive education and to contribute to creating and optimizing processes as well as internal structures to make teaching and learning more inclusive at MUM.
Dr Poovarasi Balan
A senior lecturer in Chemical Engineering, School of Engineering and also a fellow of Monash University Malaysia Education Academy Fellow. She is actively involved in research related to Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and also, development of biodegradable coatings for biomedical implants on the scientific front.
