Scientific Advisory Group

Scientific Advisory Group

The Scientific Advisory Group (SAG) supports the SEACO Executives through technical review, monitoring of scientific activities and output, and advice on research and funding priorities. The SAG initiates recommendations to the SEACO Board on ongoing and future research directions.

Members of the SAG

Members of the Scientific Advisory Group comprise independent Malaysian and international scientists and experts from disciplines required for the core activities of SEACO.

These include public health and clinical sciences, social sciences and public policy, institutional and programme management, community development and experience in engagement with the public and private sectors at national and international levels.

SAG members serve a three-year term, renewable for a second term upon agreement from the Board. New members of SAG are nominated by the Executives and approved by the SEACO Board in consensus with SAG.

The SAG may be expanded through endorsement by the SEACO Board, in response to the increase in areas of work.

The SAG provides oversight on the Scientific Reference Groups to support the Executives and also provide expertise on an ad-hoc basis.
