Title: Launching of Dengue App – to locate larvae breeding sites

This article focuses on the Dengue App, used to locate larvae breeding sites. Dr Mohtar, the District Health Officer mentioned this app is mainly used by District Health staff & the Communication for Behaviourial Impact (COMBI) Team, and is not opened to public yet. SEACO’s work was mainly on creating the app while the District Health Officer helped in providing information on dengue. Dr Mohtar also stated that training was provided to 2-5 COMBI Team members to locate the breeding sites and take corrective actions such as cleaning the sites. Each member needed t0o log in and upload relevant information using the app. This app focuses on determining sites that cannot be cleaned immediately. For those that can be cleaned up easily, the photos do not need to be uploaded.

The app was launched by YB Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam on 20 November 2016.
