After Iftar at SEACO and SEACO Youth Club logo winners

Ramadan is the time where Muslims all over the world fast for 30 days from dawn to dusk. As part of the community, family and friends gather together to buka puasa (open fast), also known as, after Iftar at sunset. At SEACO this is no different. On 6 June 2017, from 7pm to 8:30pm, SEACO’s staff gathered together to break fast and celebrate their bond as a family. The welcome speech was given by the Director of SEACO, Prof. Daniel Reidpath. During the event, the SEACO Youth Club logo winners were announced. The winner of the logo competition was a group comprised of Pang Sia Yen, Muhammad Rafizi bin Mohd Yusof and Muhammad Hazwan bin Miden. Certificates were also given to the individuals that participated in the competition. A closing speech was given by the Associate Director of SEACO, Prof. Pascale Allotey and the event ended with a group photo session. Since its inception, SEACO has organised a buka puasa event for their staff every Ramadan. This community event encourages closeness, understanding and appreciation between friends and colleagues. To be able to sit and eat among people of various religions and racial backgrounds is a privilege that not many countries share. We in Malaysia, especially at SEACO, are very grateful to be able to celebrate the ‘after Iftar’ as a family with heartfelt appreciation and joy.
