Ministry of Health Malaysia Delegation's Official Visit to SEACO, Monash University Malaysia
SEACO was honoured to host an esteemed delegation from the Ministry of Health Malaysia on September 26-27, 2023, at the South East Asia Community Observatory (SEACO) located within Monash University Malaysia in Segamat, Johor. This visit represents a significant stride forward in solidifying the collaborative efforts between SEACO and the Ministry of Health Malaysia, aimed at enhancing public health and community well-being.
Among the distinguished representatives from the Ministry of Health Malaysia who graced this visit with their presence were particularly expert from Non- Communicable Diseases Unit namely:
- Dr. Noraryana Binti Hassan, Deputy Director (Non-Communicable Diseases), Disease Control Division, Non-Communicable Disease Control Branch
- Dr. Farahana Binti Mohamad Pilus, Chief Assistant Director (PPKA), Cardiovascular and Diabetes Disease Control and Prevention Unit
- Dr. Nor Hana Binti Ahmad Bahuri, Chief Assistant Director Public Health Specialist, Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri Johor
- Dr. Mohd Tariq Bin Mhd Noor, Sector Chief (PPKA), NCD Intervention Sector, Disease Control Division
The visit commenced with a comprehensive presentation on SEACO's operational activities and research findings, followed by engaging discussions centred around collaboration with the Segamat District Health Office (PKD), led by Dr. Zaid Bin Kassim, the District Health Officer of Segamat. Additionally, a productive meeting with SEACO stakeholders took place, fostering the exchange of ideas regarding the direction of collaboration for the betterment of the community. The visit concluded with an insightful tour of SEACO's sub-district facilities and a simulation of data collection processes.
SEACO wholeheartedly values this opportunity to exchange knowledge, experiences, and shared objectives, all in the pursuit of enhancing the health and well-being of the local community.
