21 April 2024, Sunday -  As reported in the Segamat News: The South East Asia Community Observatory (SEACO) launched the Health Round Project 2023-2024 and called on the public in the relevant areas to cooperate and participate actively.

SEACO issued a statement stating that the Health Round Project 2023-2024 is a comprehensive community health survey aimed at identifying the overall health and well-being of the population in the Segamat community, and the survey is conducted in 5 sub-districts in the Segamat area namely Sg. Segamat, Gemereh, Jabi, Bekok & Chaah.

This project is conducted every 5 years and is currently being carried out for the third time. Each respondent will receive a home visit lasting between 15 minutes to 45 minutes. The main objective of the survey is to improve respondents' understanding of their overall health status, with a special focus on key indicators including body mass index (BMI), blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and the likelihood of developing conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Through this effort, SEACO not only collects valuable health data but also instills awareness in respondents to always maintain their health well.

At present, the Health Round Project 2023-2024 is being implemented in the districts of Bekok, Chaah, and Jabi, and will be expanded to the Sg. Segamat and Gemereh sub-districts in the coming weeks.

This project began last September and is expected to conclude by December this year.

SEACO strongly encourages the communities in Sg. Segamat and Gemereh to actively participate in order to enhance public awareness of health and well-being within the community.
