South East Asia Community Observatory (SEACO), School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia - Population Census Project, Chaah District
24 May 2024, Friday - The Population Census Project was conducted from August 2022 to November 31, 2023. This project is conducted every five years in five selected districts where SEACO conducts studies: Bekok, Chaah, Jabi, Gemereh, and Sungai Segamat.
The objective of the Population Census Project is to record basic information such as age, educational status, and health-related information for each individual. Other information such as socio-economic status, home modifications, school information, and household pregnancies will also be recorded. In addition, additional questions regarding high blood pressure and COVID-19 will be asked to selected respondents or residents.
In Chaah District, a total of 3,459 households were recorded, with 2,311 household representatives participating in the Population Census Project. The total population of households in Chaah District is 7,479 residents. The attached information sheet shows preliminary findings from the census for Chaah District, divided into 1) Household Information, 2) Socio-demographics, and 3) Health.
