South East Asia Community Observatory (SEACO), School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia, Research Methodology for Medical Professionals
In a significant collaboration, the South East Asia Community Observatory (SEACO) proudly hosted Part 1 of the “Research Methodology for Medical Professionals” course, specifically tailored for Medical Officers from Health Offices across the state of Johor who are preparing to pursue Master’s and PhD degrees in Public Health. The workshop took place on 9 October 2025 at the Segamat Health Clinic, District Health Office.
The esteemed faculty members leading the course were Professor G. R. Letchuman A/L Ramanathan (Professor of Medicine, Clinical School Johor Bahru) and Dr. Siti Maisarah Binti Mattap (Senior Lecturer, School of Medicine). The course featured a comprehensive curriculum covering key topics such as “The Foundation of the Research Proposal” and “Good Clinical Practice: Basics for Public Health Research Methods – Part 1.”
The session concluded with a practical component, where all participating Medical Officers presented their self-developed research proposals (DIY Research Proposals) and received valuable feedback from Professor G. R. Letchuman A/L Ramanathan, Dr. Siti Maisarah Binti Mattap, and Dr. Mohd Azrizan Bin Bakir.
At the end of the workshop, Dr. Mohd Khairul Anwar Bin Kamdi (Public Health Medical Specialist, Segamat District Health Office) presented certificates and tokens of appreciation to all participants in recognition of their active participation and commitment.
