South East Asia Community Observatory (SEACO), School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia, Meeting with Segamat Hospital & Segamat District Health Office
In January 2025, the South East Asia Community Observatory (SEACO), School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia, participated in two significant meetings with Segamat Hospital’s Clinical Research Centre (CRC) unit and the Segamat District Health Office. The first meeting with the Segamat Hospital CRC unit was attended by Dr. Fatima and Dr. Vincent. The second meeting with the Segamat District Health Office was attended by Dr. Ahmad Ghazie and three medical officers.
During the first meeting with the Segamat Hospital CRC unit, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions regarding a collaborative plan to organize research-related programs and workshops in 2025. This conversation led to a request for SEACO’s expertise in conducting research workshops for medical officers and staff at Segamat Hospital.
The subsequent meeting with the Segamat District Health Office primarily focused on reviewing the Research Method 101 program, which had previously been organized by SEACO for medical officers from the Segamat District Health Office. Furthermore, the meeting also explored a partnership plan for community-based programs and activities to be implemented in 2025.
In addition to the discussions surrounding specific programs, both meetings emphasized the importance of fostering long-term partnerships that not only focus on enhancing research capacity but also contribute to the overall well-being of the community.
