Do I have to complete the General Studies units?
Yes. Enrolment in the General Studies course is a Malaysian government requirement for all students studying in Malaysia. Please refer to the General Studies website for more information.

The Education Management Office (EMO) will enrol your units for the first semester in stages.
Enrollment for international students can only be done by the Education Management Office (EMO) after the submission of both the passport and health screening report to the International Student Pass (ISP) Office.
For your subsequent semesters, you will need to complete your unit enrolment during the re-enrolment period in October–November. The University will send a bulk email closer to the time to remind you of this re-enrolment activity. Please check your student Monash email account regularly.

To keep a place in your course, you need to apply for intermission. While waiting for your school to confirm you can take study leave, you need to re-enrol in your current course, or else you might lose your place at Monash.

Yes, we'll email to your Monash account with information about your course, so make sure you check it regularly. In particular, we email you in October/November about re-enrolling for the following academic year (if you don't do this during the re-enrolment period you'll need to pay a late fee of RM200).
