Monash Annual Dinner 2025
A Night of Connection: Monash Malaysia's Annual Dinner Returns After 15 Years
Published: 24 August 2026

On 26 November 2025, colleagues from across Monash University Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur, Bandar Sunway, and Segamat campuses gathered at the Courtyard by Marriott Kuala Lumpur South for the return of the Monash Annual Dinner, held for the first time in 15 years.
Themed "Retro Night" and set against the University's Momentum Now campaign, the evening was framed by Professor Emeritus Dato' Dr Adeeba Kamarulzaman, President and Pro Vice-Chancellor, as a chance to celebrate a remarkable year for the University, from new course launches and record enrolments to major grants, awards, and an expanding network of academic and industry partnerships.
For many staff, the evening was as much about reconnecting as celebrating. Colleagues from academic, administrative, research, and operations teams mingled across campus lines, with the retro dress code bringing out a strong showing of costumes and enthusiasm across the floor, including a Best Dressed turn from GPH's own Dr Azrizan and Prof Sarah Hawkes.
The night's programme also featured the PVC's Awards for Excellence and Long Service Award ceremonies, recognising staff whose sustained contributions have shaped the University over the years. Among the honourees was Norliza Mat of the Global Population Health–SEACO (South East Asia Community Observatory) family, who was presented with her 10-Year Long Service Award, a proud milestone celebrated warmly by her colleagues.
The evening closed out 2025 on a note of appreciation and camaraderie, with staff across the University marking not just individual achievements but the shared momentum carrying Monash Malaysia forward.
