Our Research Domains

Our research will span two overlapping domains applying lenses of equity and transdisciplinarity across the board. On the one hand, Power, Politics and Governance – with topics such as governance for health; equitable participation; power, ideology and politics of equity; policy process. And on the other, Addressing Health Drivers, which includes: social, commercial and structural determinants; food and transport systems; health harming products, climate and health, fragility and humanitarian settings; marginalisation and the human capital agenda; healthcare systems equity.

South East Asia Community Observatory (SEACO)

SEACO is a platform for studying health at the population level — and, increasingly, for understanding how health and development shape one another. Based in Segamat, Johor, and part of Monash University Malaysia, the platform offers researchers a rare combination: a well-characterised, multi-ethnic population of tens of thousands of people followed over time.
