Advancing Education Through Immersive Technology

An innovative initiative exploring the use of virtual reality to support teaching, learning, and digital innovation.

Project Background

UM-HEART-VR was developed as an initiative to explore how immersive technology can be used to enrich education and create more engaging learning experiences. As digital tools continue to shape modern teaching and learning, virtual reality offers new opportunities for learners to interact with content in ways that are more visual, interactive, and experiential.

The project brings together expertise in education and technology to examine how virtual reality can support innovative teaching approaches across different learning contexts. By creating immersive environments, the initiative aims to move beyond conventional content delivery and encourage deeper engagement, exploration, and understanding.

Through this project, UM-HEART-VR seeks to contribute to the growing conversation on the use of emerging technologies in education, while demonstrating how thoughtfully designed digital experiences can enhance the way learners connect with knowledge and practice.
