Clinical School Johor Bahru (CSJB) offers strong support and practical skills. Students spend three years of their clinical placement at CSJB. They benefit from facilities such as the Clinical Skills Lab and Pathology Resources Centre, and learn in a vibrant environment
Clinical School Johor Bahru (CSJB) is situated at the southern-most point of the Malaysian Peninsula, just across the causeway from Singapore.
CSJB is strategically located right next to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital, a tertiary and referral hospital where the clinical studies will be centred at. The CSJB phase 2 building, or commonly known as the Monash 1 building, is a four-storey green building designed to reduce the usage of energy, water and other resources. It also provides a pleasant and tranquil environment, which is conducive to studying and working.
All Year Three to Five medical students are based at the Clinical School Johor Bahru (CSJB), where they gain practical clinical skills using state-of-the-art equipment and simulation facilities.
Facilities
Pathology Museum
The Pathology Museum at CSJB houses a collection of specimens that help students understand diseases and their effects on the human body. It provides valuable hands-on learning to support clinical training
Womens Health Skills Room
This room is designed to help students learn baby delivery and other clinical scenarios using simulator models
Simulation rooms
The two simulator rooms with simulator models allow students to learn in a realistic, simulated setting of a hospital emergency room.
Clinical Skills Laboratory
This laboratory is equipped with a wide range of tools and instruments to support practical classes. It gives students the opportunity to apply their knowledge, practise essential skills, and gain hands-on experience in a supportive learning environment
Learning Suites
Students are divided into small groups for Clinical Skills and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) classes, creating an interactive and hands-on experience that builds collaboration and critical thinking. These suites are also used for practical examinations, allowing students to showcase their skills and knowledge in a realistic setting.
A multipurpose function hall
The multipurpose room, located on the top floor of Monash 1 overlooking the Straits of Johor, is a dedicated space for student activities. It provides a bright and open environment for meetings, classrooms, assessments, events, and recreational activities, encouraging interaction and student engagement.
Library and Learning Commons
CSJB offers a dedicated Library and Learning Commons with a variety of study spaces, excellent facilities, and access to outstanding resources and services. It also provides research skills development programs to support students, academics, and staff
Lecturer Theatre and Seminar Rooms
CSJB has a dedicated lecture theatre and well-equipped seminar rooms that provide a conducive environment for delivering lectures, discussions, and academic activities for medical students
Medical Research Laboratory
CJSB Medical Research Laboratory provides support for conducting research, clinical research and patient examination specifically for drug trial research.
