The 1st International Conference on Food as Medicine (ICFAM 2026), organised by the Food as Medicine (FAM) Research Strength, Monash University Malaysia, provides a platform for researchers from around the world to share the latest advancements in their scientific work. The conference aims to highlight the critical role of food in health by showcasing cutting-edge research on how diet and specific foods can help prevent, manage, and even treat chronic diseases. Emphasis will be placed on evidence-based approaches to using food as a therapeutic tool. We aim to foster interdisciplinary collaboration by bringing together healthcare professionals, researchers, nutritionists, dietitians, stakeholders, and policymakers to exchange knowledge on how food can complement or serve as an alternative to conventional medical treatments. The core components of the event—including plenary sessions, oral and poster presentations, as well as discussion forums will be held concurrently, each focusing on one of the following subthemes:

Post-conference workshops will be offered on specific topics that are designed to enhance learning, facilitate hands-on experiences, and foster further collaboration in the field of nutrition.
