The second IBRO School of Neuroscience was co-hosted by the Brain Research Institute at Monash Sunway (BRIMS), NeuroMalaysia Society, University Malaya and University Technology Mara at Monash University Sunway campus. The school focused on 'Functional Genomics, Molecular Morphology, Behavioural Neuroscience & Neuroimaging'.
33 young students attended the school from various countries in the Asia-Oceania region, including India, Japan, Iran, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, China, Taiwan and Thailand.  The students were provided with lectures and hands-on sessions that focued on 4 different themes, which were Molecular Morphology, Functional Genomics, Behavioral Neuroscience, and Imaging, for the first nine days.  They also visited local institutes (University Malaya, University Technology Mara and High-Tech Instrument Sdn Bhd) to learn additional imaging techniques such as Scanning & Transmission Electron Microscopy.  On the following day, lectures on statistics were delivered by a biostatistician from University Technology Mara.  At the final session of the workshop, the students presented and discussed their mini-projects in small groups based on the themes they were assigned to participate.

Mid-way through the program, the participants had a day-off to visit Kuala Lumpur city.
