Why attend the Workshop
Specifically designed to equip healthcare professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively protect the perineum, make informed decisions about episiotomies, and perform perineal trauma repairs, all while fostering a collaborative inter-professional environment. It will also provide updated evidence based guidelines and practices on Principles and Foundations of Episiotomy, perineal tears and its repair,and wound care

Outcomes
At the end of the workshop, the participants will be able to:
Knowledge-Based Outcomes:
- Distinguish routine vs. restrictive episiotomy practices and identify medical indications based on evidence-based practices.
- Recognize anatomical landmarks and distinguish episiotomy and perineal tears.
- Reviewing the current evidence-based practices for perineal protection and repair.
- Provide health education on perineal wound care and pelvic strengthening measures in the postnatal period
Skill-Based Outcomes:
- Demonstrate suturing, knot tying, and wound repair techniques; manage 1st and 2nd-degree perineal tears.
- Apply correct episiotomy techniques and provide effective postnatal care.
- Identify pelvic floor, perineum, and anal sphincter structures during episiotomy.
Attitude-Based Outcomes:
- Understand the roles of different healthcare professionals in perineal care.
- Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork skills in simulated and real-life scenarios.
