Cardio-metabolic research
Aims
The aims of the research cluster are to conduct, guide and encourage collaborative research on:
- Developing interventions on the prevention and management of diabetes and metabolic syndrome;
- Understanding the molecular basis of diabetes and metabolic syndrome;
- Investigating/examining natural products on diabetes management;
- Enhancing/improving the quality of life of patients with diabetes and obesity; and
- Exploring/understanding the prognosis of metabolic syndrome among indigenous people
- Support for upgrading research skills, writing grant applications and strengthening links with policy makers.
