Overview
The annual CSJB (Clinical School Johor Bahru) Research Week is now in its fourteenth year, reflecting the commitment of the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences to supporting research activities among our medical students. We aim to foster a vibrant community of scholars by encouraging innovative ideas, critical discussions, collaborative work, and the dissemination of findings, while also helping students develop essential presentation skills.
Since 2025, we have broadened the scope of this platform to showcase all forms of scholarly projects, including projects on education and professional practice. This expansion reflects our continued commitment to recognising diverse forms of scholarship and innovation among our students.
We warmly welcome our medical students to present their projects, especially final-year students undertaking Scholarly Intensive Placements under the Education, Professional Practice, or Research pillars. Participation is also encouraged for students in the clinical years who have projects that fulfil the inclusion criteria.
We also invite all students to join us at the 14th CSJB Research Week as we showcase the achievements of their peers and celebrate their work in informing and improving healthcare. Please mark your calendars and join us for the presentations at the Clinical School Johor Bahru.

Categories and Inclusion Criteria
Participation is open to all JCSMHS clinical year medical students, ideally under the supervision of staff from Monash University, other academic institutions, or the Ministry of Health, such as Hospital Sultanah Aminah.
Students are invited to submit abstracts for the following categories:
In general, participation in the CSJB Scholarly Week consists of a preliminary poster presentation followed by a final oral presentation round. Participants whose abstracts are accepted will first present their projects through an on-site poster display at Monash 1, CSJB. The posters will be evaluated by a panel of esteemed judges based on the published assessment criteria.
Following the poster round, a selected number of projects will be shortlisted for the finale, where a representative from each team will be invited to deliver an oral presentation conducted in a hybrid format. This provides an opportunity for a more in-depth discussion of their scholarly work with the judging panel and audience.
All Monash University medical student team members whose projects are shortlisted for poster presentation will receive a certificate, and the abstracts will be published in the annual proceedings.
