Monash IT Account for Staff (

Monash IT Account provides access to your Monash email and online resources. By login into your Monash IT account, you will have access to the Monash website and other resources as follows.

  • Monash Portal (
  • Monash email and Google Apps (Drive, Calendar and etc.)
  • Moodle
  • Employee Self Service (ESS)
  • Staff Directory
  • Venue, Event & Space Booking Systems
  • SAP Concur
  • Zoom Video

A default password will be provided to you. For security purposes, you are required to change the password within a period of 12 hours.

Important Note:

It's advisable to change your Monash IT account password every 3 months. At any time if you believe that your password is no longer secure, change it immediately.

For specific system account access (e.g. Moodle or Callista accounts), you may refer to Service Desk Online once your Monash IT account is set up.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) provides you with enhanced protection, keeping your personal information private and secure. It involves using your phone to verify your identity when logging in (just like most banks use when you make a transfer online). Click here to view the activation guide. Network ID for Staff and Visitor

All Monash staffs received a computer account (Network ID) to access Monash Malaysia IT services, for example:

  • Home Drive & Shared Network Drives
  • Web Drive
  • Printing Services
  • Staff Intranet (Full Time Staff)
  • PC Login Access
  • Monash Malaysia VPN

Important Note:

  1. ITS will require at least 4 working days to process the account creation for staff upon receiving the request from the Human Resource unit.
  2. For visitors, the requestor must submit the request at least 4 working days prior to the visiting date.

Password and Security

Your network ID password expires every 180 days. To ensure you have a strong password, it must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 8 characters
  • A combination of upper and lower case letters
  • At least one number
  • One or more symbols (excluding the following symbols < >)
  • It cannot be any of your previous six passwords

Network ID Change Password

To start using the account, you may choose the options steps provided below. Please note that the default password for new staff will be provided by Human Resources unit.

Option 1:

Using Monash computer in the campus:

Step 1: Login using your existing network account.

Step 2: Press Ctrl+Alt+Del

Step 3: Select option “Change A Password” from the dialog box.

Step 4: Enter current password and new password. Click 🡪 to proceed.

Option 2:

Visit our self service portal at  using your own computer, tablet, or phone to update your Network password for the first time.

Network Account  Password Reset

If you have forgotten your existing Network password, you may reset your it by following the steps below;

Step 1 : Visit and click Forgot Your Password.

Step 2 : Enter your username. Example :admin\abcd0001

Step 3 : A password reset link will be forwarded to your Monash email. Click the link  
and you may proceed to create a new password.
