JCSMHS Assoc Prof Ts received the Top Research Scientists Malaysia 2022

We would like to congratulate our strength’s leader Assoc Prof Ts Dr Lee Learn Han received the Top Research Scientists Malaysia 2022 (TRSM) by Akademi Sains Malaysia in recognition of his excellent and outstanding research. Dr Lee Learn Han is the sole recipient from Monash Malaysia for TRSM 2022 award. The award was awarded by the Minister of MOSTI, Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.

The TRSM 2022 adds to his other awards received by him such as Malaysia Research Star Award (MRSA) 2018, and World Top 2% Scientist in 2020 by Elsevier Scopus. His contribution to the scientific field is well recognized by researchers worldwide and brings honour to Monash Malaysia and the school.

Associate Professor Ts Dr Lee Learn Han is the Head of the Microbiome and Bioresource Research Strength in Monash University Malaysia. He is also the Director of the prestigious Asia Pacific Microbiome and Biomedical Research Network (AMBeR). Dr Lee was ranked amongst the World Top 2% Scientist in 2020 by Elsevier Scopus, clearly demonstrating his research impact on the global stage. His leadership and achievements in foodborne multidrug-resistant pathogens have led to top international recognition, evidenced by the invitation from the US-FDA as the sole Malaysian Principal Investigator to collaborate on the genetic study of Malaysia’s foodborne pathogens since 2017. He is recognised as Malaysia’s best Medical Science researcher in 2018, as the sole recipient of Malaysia’s Research Star Award (MRSA) Winner 2018 – High Impact Paper Medical Science category. Also, he received the prestigious award of the Fellow of Malaysian Scientific Association in 2022. He was recognised with the Professional Registers as Chartered Biologist from the Royal Society of Biology, UK, in 2017. In 2020, Dr Lee was awarded the Excellent Contribution Award 2019 (Feb 2020) from the University of Phayao, Thailand, for his significant research contribution.
