The School of Business Celebrated the 25th Anniversary with fellow Alumni

More than 130 members of our alumni and staff came together for an extraordinary evening of connection, collaboration, and celebration at the Monash Malaysia Business Alumni Dinner 2023!
The evening kicked off with a warm welcome by Professor Dato’ Dr. Adeeba Kamarulzaman, President and Pro Vice-Chancellor of Monash University Malaysia, setting the tone for a night filled with insightful sharings, laughter, and meaningful conversations. Professor Nafis Alam, Head of the School of Business then shared the progress of the School of Business over the years, keeping our alumni and industry partners abreast of our highlights and achievements.
Next, Leonard Ariff, Managing Director of Duopharma Biotech Bhd and a distinguished Monash alumnus, delivered an industry presentation, sharing his industry expertise and insights on the challenges and opportunities in Digital Transformation and ESG. He also highlighted some of Duopharma's initiatives to stay ahead in the industry on these two important issues. Following this, Professor Goh See Kwong, Deputy Head of School of Business (Education) discussed the School’s initiatives to shape the future digital workforce for business. Prof. Goh revealed exciting news about the upcoming launch of the Master of Digital Business program in 2024, inviting our alumni to contribute to its success.
The evening was not just an ordinary dinner; in addition to industry insights and updates, we celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the School of Business in Malaysia with a staff celebratory video highlight and ceremonial cake cutting. As old as the Malaysia campus of Monash University, the School of Business stands as a testament to the hard work, unwavering commitment to excellence, and strong camaraderie of our current and past academic and professional members.
To conclude the night on a festive note, local stand-up comedian and Monash Malaysia alumnus, Gajen Nad, entertained us with a hilarious show. Drawing from his student days, Gajen seamlessly integrated his alumni experience into the performance, even testing our knowledge with a quick trivia session on key historical facts and figures of the school and university.
The event wrapped up with a networking dinner, where our alumni engaged in various activities, from structured networking sessions to casual mingling. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with professionals across sectors, exchange ideas, and explore potential collaborations.
