The Basics

At Monash, we call our degrees “courses”. You are enrolled in a single degree called the Bachelor of Business and Commerce (Honours). It has a course code: B3702.

To graduate from this course, you need to complete a total of 5 units. Most students do this by taking four units from Part B - Coursework units in the first semester of study and one unit from Part A - Research in the second semester of their study, for a total course duration of 2 semesters (one year).

It is very important that you choose your units carefully because you have to meet the rules of the degree. If you get to the end of one year and have chosen the wrong units, you won’t be able to graduate and will have to do an additional semester of study.

Your degree has two sections:

  • Part A. Research
  • Part B. Coursework

Each part has its own rules. The following sections take you through each part in detail, explaining exactly what you need to do to meet these rules.
