The Department of Accounting focuses on teaching realistic case studies to effectively prepare students for real-world scenarios, and our commitment has been recognised in both academia and the industry.
In 2023, we were named winners in the ASEAN i5 Grant Competition for Innovative Pedagogy (an initiative by Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) in partnership with The Lego Foundation, Project Zero, Harvard Graduate School of Education and Sulitest).
Our Accountancy major also enjoys maximum exemptions from professional bodies, enabling students to fast-track their careers. Students who excel academically can participate in the exclusive CIMA A* program, offering them the chance to become full CIMA members with only one exam (exempting them from 15 papers), a rare opportunity among private universities in Malaysia.
With top-notch programs and experienced faculty, many of whom are also involved in the industry, an Accounting major in a Business degree will prepare you to confidently thrive in a field that is essential to the success of any business.

Our Research
The Department of Accounting strives to push the boundaries of knowledge through research and focuses on areas related to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) including Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) as well as the impact and use of technology in accounting.
Our research topics have been selected for their relevance in business today, as findings can provide helpful insights to stakeholders in both theoretical and practical ways. We also strongly believe in integrating our research into teaching content and methodologies, ensuring that students are aware of the latest discoveries in the field.
Our Engagement
Our department maintains strong, ongoing partnerships with professional accounting bodies (ACCA, MICPA-CAANZ, CPA Australia, ICAEW and CIMA) and accounting firms including KPMG, PwC, Deloitte, Ernst & Young and BDO.
These partnerships open valuable pathways for our students to experience, participate and stay updated on industry developments through career events, competitions, best student awards and educational seminars.
With strong external engagement and collaborations, students enjoy regular opportunities to enhance their skills, expand their professional networks and receive guidance as they progress in their accounting careers.
