Our Research
The Department of Marketing primarily focuses on research of consumer behaviour as it permeates all levels of business and society. As our faculty members specialise in a wide range of research methodologies, we are able to take on large research projects that peel back the layers and conduct in-depth analyses.
Our specific research foci include digital consumption behaviour (affecting digital marketing strategies), sustainable consumption (sustainability and marketing), sensory marketing (affecting advertising and other marketing forms), consumer decision-making (the backbone of consumer behaviour) and the intersections of consumption, politics and culture, particularly in the global south.
Our Engagement
Our department enjoys strong relationships with established industry partners, allowing us to incorporate active industry engagement in our curriculum. Assessment briefs are given by industry partners themselves, providing students with invaluable experience in analysing, managing and solving real-world challenges.
We have also launched Market Buzz, a platform where university meets industry for meaningful dialogues and engagement with external stakeholders (industry, NGOs, government and alumni) to discuss current trends, industry challenges and potential solutions.
