My research experience with Monash was a wonderful one. As a foreign private university with a campus in Malaysia, it provided the best of both worlds for a mature student like me. The supervisory support from academic staff was crucial in helping me complete my PhD, particularly in navigating challenges during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Based on my experience, the strength of the program lies in the strong supervisory team and academic guidance provided to research students. The campus is also well-equipped to provide post-graduate students with relevant research support, and I enjoyed the diverse, international student population.

Along with opportunities to improve communication and presentation skills, my time at Monash sharpened my critical thinking skills and ability to problem-solve, which continues to be of great value as I pursue my journey in public service.

Dr Eunice Yeo Huan completed her PhD with the School of Business in 2022. Her research topic was ‘Whole-of-Government Approach: A Case Study of Malaysia’s Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic’.
