Gerontechnology Lab

Gerontechnology is an interdisciplinary field of research that focuses on how technology can support the needs and desires of older adults. At Monash Business, the Gerontechnology Lab aims to translate research into practical solutions and bolster public policies surrounding the health and well-being of older adults.

Our specialist services include:

  • Research and Development: We conduct translational research that infuses the human element in order to support people living and ageing well in the last third of their adult lives.
  • Education and Training: Our team provides education, training, assessment and consultation services in gerontechnology, home safety and the independent living environment.
  • Research Network: We are an expanding networkiwell-beingng platform for multidisciplinary research collaborations in Monash and beyond.
  • Engagement and Impact: We develop innovative solutions and forward-looking policies to advance community impact, social engagement and the wellbeing of ageing communities.
  • Open Platform: We are an open platform for the general public to trial, learn and explore the various technologies available.

With state-of-the-art facilities, the Lab also serves as a centre for education, training, assessments and consultation on gerontechnology, home safety and the independent living environment.

Our vision is to be a leading multidisciplinary research platform for gerontechnology with strong local relevance to the Asian and Australasian contexts. We aspire to build a strong network in Asia, raising much-needed awareness and improving public policies for the well-being of older adults.
