Celebrating Success: Monash Business Alumni Wall of Fame Unveiling Ceremony

The School of Business proudly unveiled the Monash Business Alumni Wall of Fame, featuring 12 distinguished Monash Business alumni, individuals who stand as pillars within both the business and community spheres, shaping the vibrant landscape of Malaysia and beyond. The event, graced by esteemed alumni, industry leaders, staff and students, commemorated the outstanding achievements of our alumni who have made indelible marks in their respective fields.
Among the distinguished alumni featured on the Wall of Fame who attended the unveiling ceremony are;
- Datuk Muhammad Umar Swift, CEO of Bursa Malaysia
- Ng Wei Wei, CEO of UOB Malaysia
- Leonard Ariff, CEO of Duopharma
- Dr. Charles Fang, Group CEO of GoodMorning Global Group Holdings Berhad
- Tan Guan Sheng, Founder and CEO of ITTIFY
- Dr. Eunice Yeo, Senior Director at the Public Private Partnership Unit, Prime Minister's Department
- Dr. Sumitra Nair, Senior Director and Head of Group Sustainability at Telekom Malaysia Berhad
The ceremony commenced with an inspiring welcome remark by Professor Dato Dr. Adeeba Kamarulzaman, President and Pro Vice-Chancellor of Monash University Malaysia, on the importance of engaging our ever growing alumni community. Professor Nafis Alam, Head of School of Business, then set the tone for an afternoon of celebration and reflection, acknowledging the contributions of our distinguished alumni as industry titans of Malaysian businesses and community leaders. He also announced the release of the School of Business 2023 Annual Report, showcasing the achievements and progress the school has made in 2023 in the core areas of Education, Research and Engagement & Impact.
The highlight of the event was the ribbon-cutting ceremony, symbolising the official launch of the Wall of Fame. The program then continued with reflections from Ng Wei Wei and Tan Guan Sheng on their career journeys, highlighting the pivotal role Monash University played in shaping their success and offering advice to current students who were in attendance. This momentous occasion was followed by a delightful Hari Raya Lunch, fostering camaraderie and festive cheer among guests as they celebrated Eid al-Fitr together.
The unveiling ceremony not only honoured the achievements of Monash alumni but also underscored the university's commitment to fostering excellence and inspiring future generations of leaders. As the Wall of Fame stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Monash Business School, it serves as a source of inspiration for all who pass through its halls.
