Principal and Non-Standard Dates

Monash Principal Dates are the University’s standard academic dates for key deadlines such as teaching periods, enrolment, census, withdrawal, assessments and results, while Non-Standard Dates apply to specific units or study periods that have different teaching, assessment, census or withdrawal dates from the standard academic calendar.

  • Orientation Week

    Helps new students become familiar with the university, campus, systems, and support services before classes begin.

  • Allocate+ Preference Entry and Adjustment

    Students select and adjust their preferred tutorial and workshop classes.

  • Last Day to Add Units

    Final opportunity to enrol in additional units for the semester.

  • Fees Due Date

    Tuition fees must be paid by this date to avoid late payment penalties or an encumbrance on the student account.

  • Census Date

    One of the most important deadlines. It is the last day to withdraw from a unit without academic penalty and before tuition liability is fully incurred.

  • Final Examinations

    Official assessment period for most units.

  • Results Release

    Students receive their final grades and academic results.

  • Re-enrolment Period

    Students enrol in units for the following academic year. Missing timely re-enrolment may result in late fees or reduced unit availability.

  • Graduation Application Deadlines

    Students intending to graduate must submit their applications by the specified deadlines.
