No, students must complete the amount of credit points according to their course requirements as shown in the Monash Handbook.
To complete a major, students must have 8 units from the respective major area whereas to complete a minor, students must have 4 units from the respective minor area. Please refer to the Monash Handbook according to the year of your commencement for more information on the major/minor requirements for the Arts area of study.
The most basic combo is completing one major and one minor in your course. However, you may refer to this link for more information on the available combo for students enrolled in A2006 BASS.
Yes, it can be possible to nominate and complete a minor in this course. However, you will be required to ensure that you have sufficient space to add the additional area of study (4 units) and that no unit can be counted twice to an area of study.

The general course rules for planning your course map are as follows:
(i) Completion of only 144 credit points (equivalent to 24 units)
(ii) Meet and fulfil the course requirements (Major/Minor/Specialized Degree) as per the Monash Handbook according to the year of commencement
(iii) Minimum 6 units of 3rd year level - with at least 4 units of 3rd year level from Arts
(iv) Maximum 10 units of 1st year level
(v) Completion of GS requirement (U1, U2, U3 & U4) as in this link
(vi) Electives of a maximum of 8 units of non-arts (if applicable)
(vii) You have a maximum of 8 years to complete this course including any periods of intermission and suspension, and must be continuously enrolled throughout
You can only enrol into a maximum of 10 units of 1st year level (including any exempted first year level unit).
No, there is no limit on the number for 2nd year level units
You will need to enrol into a minimum of 6 units of 3rd year level with at least four units from the Arts area.
You can enrol into a maximum of only 8 units of non-Arts electives.

If the failed unit is a core unit or contributes towards your major/minor/specialisation, please note that you will be required to re-enrol into this unit again in the next offering as per the Handbook.

However, for students commencing in 2024 onwards, please note that it is compulsory to enrol into MPU3312 Integrity and Anti-Corruption as part of the GS U3 requirements as this is a compulsory unit to complete as shown in this link.

No, the completion of general studies is required by MOHE & MQA to graduate in Monash Malaysia Malaysia but it does not contribute towards your WAM in the undergraduate course in SASS nor is it counted towards the credit points.
To enrol into your General Studies (U1) units, please search for the GS course code: 9410 General Studies and not your undergraduate course. If you encounter an issue, please refer to this step by step guide (Section B).
Kindly be informed that it’s advisable to begin enrolling into your MPU units starting from your first semester onwards. However, students may stretch out their unit enrollment during their course duration period.
