Doctor of Philosophy

A Doctor of Philosophy involves the independent investigation of a research problem formulated by students in consultation with their supervisors (minimum two supervisors). You will produce a research thesis of no more than 80,000 words (or alternative approved output). The period of candidature is 3-4 years full-time or 6-8 years part-time. Student can start their candidature at any time of the year.
How to apply:
Applicants must obtain an 'Invitation to Apply' by submitting an 'Expression of Interest' (EOI) via the steps below:
Step 1: Check your eligibility (review Entry Requirement for Doctor of Philosophy & English Language Proficiency)
Step 2: Nominate two supervisors
Graduate research degrees involve the independent investigation of a research problem formulated by students in consultation with their supervisors (minimum two). Potential supervisors can be viewed using this link.
Step 3: Submit your Expression of Interest (EOI)
Submit your application in the form of an Expression of Interest (EoI) for PhD candidature here. Applications should include a research proposal and identify at least two potential supervisors.
Step 4: Next steps
Applicants whose EOI is successful will then receive an 'Invitation to Apply'. This is required before you can progress to the formal application stage. The Invitation to Apply does not guarantee an offer of admission, and will be subject to any conditions stipulated on the Invitation. If unsuccessful, applicants will receive feedback and alternative pathways.
