Research visitors and visiting fellows

The SASS Visiting Fellowship program aims to nurture and grow SASS international research networks by supporting scholars to spend up to three months at the School working on a collaborative project with one or more SASS researchers. The collaboration may be in the form of a joint publication, a grant proposal, or a major international event. Fellows will be expected to deliver a public lecture and a master class for graduate students.

Successful applicants are provided with an office space, full accommodation, a return airfare and a monthly stipend.

Application requirements:

  • alignment to the strategic goals of Monash University and the research themes of thriving communities, geopolitical security and climate change.
  • alignment to the research strengths of the School of Arts and Social Sciences and the theme of Social Transformation in Southeast Asia.
  • a track record of collaboration with the proposed collaborator, or strong potential to develop an ongoing collaborative program of work.
  • strong potential to strengthen SASS international research networks by building cross-institutional relationships with leading research institutions globally.
  • submission of a strong proposal for a program of work, including evidence of a track record of research on the proposed topic and outputs that can feasibly achieved by the conclusion of the fellowship.
