Winner of IEEE Malaysia FYP Competition

Our Mechanical Engineering final year student, Mr. Lim Jia You has competed in the 2020 IEEE Malaysia Final Year Project Competition. This competition was open to all undergraduate students in any Higher Education Institution across Malaysia. A total of 250 student project submissions were received and evaluated across 16 technical tracks. Mr Lim Jia You’s work “Printed Circuit Boards Defect Detection using Deep Learning” entered into the competition under the track “Recent Trends in Computational Intelligence” and was awarded first place. Under the supervision of Associate Professor Wang Xin, Mr. Lim contributed to the field of artificial intelligence research, particularly in computer vision for product inspection in manufacturing industries.
