IMechE Monash University Malaysia Student Chapter has done it again!

For the second year running, Monash University Malaysia Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE, UK) Student Chapter has won the Best Student Chapter in Malaysia award. This prestigious award is in recognition of the outstanding activities, achievements, and membership growth achieved by the Monash University Student Chapter during the year 2014-2015.

Among the achievements of the year are: Monash University Malaysia IMechE Student Chapter member achieving the runner-up position in the Asia Pacific Region Finals of Speak Out for Engineering (SOfE 2014) and becoming the winner of the Southeast Asia Regional SOfE 2014 competition, the  successful  hosting  of EngNow  2015 event which consisted of the national level Design and SOfE 2015 competition, Monash University IMechE Student Chapter members achieving the  runners-up position in both Design Competition and SOfE 2015 at the national level.

A total of 32 highly impactful and engaging events were organised by the Student Chapter Committee led by Wang Qin (President), Yeoh Chin Vern and Malika Nawaratne (Vice Presidents), and Eranda Sampath (Secretary) with commensurate contributions by the rest of the Committee for 2014-15.

The activities included visits of ITEX 2015 and the 2015 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) Exhibition as well as a number of wide-ranging industry-relevant and academic technical talks. For the first time, the membership growth drive was channeled through social networking sites (Notice Board and Facebook page).
