Engineering Student Wins Sir John Monash Medal for Outstanding Achievement

Lim Kee Kiat - Sir John Monash MedalMr Lim Kee Kiat from the Discipline of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering was awarded the prestigious Sir John Monash Medal in the recent university April 2015 graduation ceremony held at Sunway Resort Hotel and Spa.

The Sir John Monash Medal is awarded annually to recognise final year undergraduate students with extraordinary academic achievement and who demonstrated significant commitment, while at Monash University, to advancing the University's goals of social justice, human rights and a sustainable environment.

Apart form academic excellence, Mr Lim was involved in various community projects while in Monash University Malaysia and these include organizing the inaugural Monash Run 2012 and participating in the Project WHEE; a youth initiative community development project that aims to help women in Bario, Sarawak by teaching them the English language for the purpose of improving ecotourism in the region.

School of Engineering congratulates Mr Lim for his outstanding achievements.
