IMechE Monash University Malaysia Student Chapter has done it again!

For the second year running, Monash University Malaysia Institution of Mechanical Engineers Student Chapter has won the Best Student Chapter in Malaysia award. This prestigious award is in recognition of the outstanding activities, achievements, and membership growth achieved by the Monash University Student Chapter during the year 2014-2015.


Mechanical Students Emerged Third in Warman 2015

Mechanical Engineering students of Monash University Malaysia clinched a podium finish as they emerged as the 3rd place winner of the 2015 Warman Competition National Finals in Sydney, Australia. The victory this year, was made even sweeter when our students improved on their 4th place ranking achieved in 2014.


Student Prototype Wins Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Challenge

School of Engineering congratulates Mechatronics student Mazlan Alam Malik for winning the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition. His prototype, titled 'Interactive and Portal Rehabilitation for the Disabled (IPRD)' was an improved version of his Final Year Project supervised by Dr. Alpha Agape.


Engineering Student Wins MOSTI Inclusive Innovation Challenge 2015

Engineering student, Mr Choo Cheng Keong came in at 3rd placing of the Masters category in the the Research Project Inclusive Innovation Challenge Competition, held in conjunction with the Nano Kebangsaan 2015 Program by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI).

Dr Melanie Bestowed With Outstanding Young Engineer Award by IEEE

Dr. Melanie Ooi Po-Leen from Monash University Malaysia has been awarded the 2014 Outstanding Young Engineer Award by IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement (I&M) Society. The award was announced in the 2015 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference held in Pisa, Italy.

Creating Safer Medical Devices

Monash University Malaysia and B. Braun Malaysia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently, paving the way for a collaborative research, between the School of Engineering and the Germany-based multi-national, which will look at developing a functional biopolymer coating, making medical devices safer for patients.

Chemically Powered Vehicles at the ChemE Car Competition

Six teams, comprising of four members each, participated in the event. During the competition, the cars were required to travel a specific distance while carrying a load of water. Each team participated in two runs, carrying a different load of water each time.


Rice, Lights and Robotic Surgery

In the first session of PechaKucha for the year 2015, three academics took on the challenge of presenting their research in 20 slides within 6 minutes and 40 seconds, succeeding to provoke a lively discussion on various issues that affect us all.
