4th Tan Sri Ir. Yusoff Ibrahim FYP Competition

The School’s Mechanical Engineering graduate, Oon Chee Yee, emerged as one of the top 7 winners after beating other finalists in the second round of the 4th Tan Sri Ir Yusoff Ibrahim Final Year Project (FYP) Competition 2020. The competition is organised annually by the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) to award outstanding undergraduate final year projects across Malaysia.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Deep Racer Women’s League

Congratulations to Lysandra Koon Sue Ann for winning the national level of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Deep Racer Women’s League. She emerged as the champion in the Malaysian league and was awarded prizes worth USD 300.  The league consisted of virtual races across five cities in the ASEAN region.

Tackling engineering real-world challenges

Road safety issue of a low end Malaysian vehicle served as an inspiration for a project titled “A complete plug and play solution for the Internet of Vehicles”. It clinched the second prize in the Keysight Track and a consolation prize under CREST Design category at the Innovate Malaysia Design Competition 2020 (IMDC 2020) recently.

Engineering Student wins Sir John Monash Medal for Outstanding Achievement

Lim Ee never thought that he would win the prestigious Sir John Monash Medal award one day. He is truly humble and honoured to be the recipient of the award. According to Lim Ee, he was usually the quiet kid in class, back in his schooling days. During his first year at Monash Malaysia, he decided to step out of his comfort zone and did things that he was previously afraid of, such as public speaking, socialising and taking up responsibilities. It was definitely the turning point in his life. For him, the secret to success was ‘to leave your comfort zone behind and just try your best’.

TSAE Auto Challenge 2020

On the 7th to 10th February 2020, Monash Motorsports Malaysia, a team consisting of more than 30 enthusiastic students from various engineering disciplines participated in the Thailand SAE Auto Challenge 2020 – Student Formula. It is an international student design competition organized yearly by the Society of Automotive Engineers, Thailand (TSAE).
