TSAE Auto Challenge 2020

On the 7th to 10th February 2020, Monash Motorsports Malaysia, a team consisting of more than 30 enthusiastic students from various engineering disciplines participated in the Thailand SAE Auto Challenge 2020 – Student Formula. It is an international student design competition organized yearly by the Society of Automotive Engineers, Thailand (TSAE).

The team emerged as the champion for Cost Event, secured a 2nd place for Static Event and 3rd for the Best Improvement. The team also secured an overall ranking of 7th among the 29 teams in its category, bringing home a total of 633 points and a Gold Medal!

The outcomes were the result of the team's clear understanding of sustainable engineering design. With an emphasis on cost-effectiveness and ease of manufacturing, the team has managed to deliver a stunning presentation in the Cost Event. The team designed the car with a good balance of performance and reliability, the team was also among the top teams on the track. With the continued support of the School of Engineering, students have the opportunity to have hands-on experience in this highly demanding engineering design project, in which students design, build and validate their engineering solutions. With a dedication to engineering research and design, the team looks forward to guide and working with the future generation of students. The team aims to get Top 5 next year and challenge the top teams for the podium.
