Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)

UROP provides undergraduate engineering students an early opportunity to experience a genuine research environment, working either with a supervisor or a research group. During this program, students will conduct a small research project (to be done in one semester) under the supervision of their desired supervisors. Applicants can choose to continue their projects for another semester if both student and supervisor wish to do so. This experience allows students to acquire knowledge and numerous skills to confidently progress to more independent research tasks and get prepared to undertake final year project (FYP) and pursue any future postgraduate study.

Eligibility:
  • Year 2 and year 3 students
  • WAM > 75
Upon completion, students will receive:
  • Certificate of completion
  • Top 3 projects of the year will be awarded a cash prize
