Team Monash 2 crowned 2014 Best Malaysian Team Award

Shell Malaysia yesterday crowned Team Monash 2 from Monash University, Malaysia as the Best Malaysian Team for the 2014 Shell Eco-marathon Asia. The team brought home RM10,000 cash prize and a challenge trophy.

Monash Scientist works on Fault Detection in Volvo Engines

Dr. Mark Ng from the Electrical and Computer Systems department in the Malaysia campus is currently in Sweden. Together with a team of scientists from Linköping University, he is developing new techniques to detect and isolate faults in Volvo car engines.

ECSE promotes Scientific Research Nanodevices

The Nanodevices and MEMs Fabrication laboratory in ECSE led by Dr. Ramakrishnan Narayanan visited the Melbourne Center of Nanofabrication (MCN) in December 2013. Together with other scientists in MCN, Mr. Tridib Saha, a PhD candidate supervised by Dr. Narayanan, fabricated new 130MHz Surface Acoustic Wave devices on lithium niobate wafers as a first step towards developing a state-of-art biosensor for medical applications.

ECSE Collaborates with University of Warwick, U.K.

A PhD candidate under the ECSE department, Mr. Dilukshan Karunatilaka, visited the Communication Systems Lab in the University of Warwick in December 2013. Mr. Karunatilaka, who is supervised by A/Prof. Rajendran Parthiban, met with Prof. Roger Green and his team in the United Kingdom to discuss an international-level research project on optical wireless communication systems.
