Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering (ECSE) students co-authored a paper on quantum physics

Two ECSE graduates, Mehdi Pourzand and Chu Rui Jian, co-authored a paper with Associate Professor BL Lan where they showed that the non-relativistic and relativistic versions of quantum theory do not always yield the same dynamical predictions when they are supposed to. Their finding shows that the relativistic theory must be used, instead of the standard non-relativistic theory, to correctly study the dynamics of quantum systems. The paper, which is based on the the final-year projects of the two students, will be published in the journal Results in Physics.
