SOLIDWORKS Intervarsity Skills Competition 2018
In year 2014, the Flipped Learning approach was introduced to make way for 2 hours of weekly SolidWorks classes through Engineering Design I unit. More students were trained to be competent in Computer Aided Design and Drafting skills, making them better prepared for industry in the engineering sector.
Recently, we received an invitation to participate in the SolidWorks Intervarsity Skills Competition which was held at Tunku Abdul Rahman University College(TARUC). There were approximately 150 participants from 18 different institutions participating in this competition. Nine students from Monash University Malaysia Campus took up the challenge to compete and Edmund Ng Chong Jie, our third year mechanical student emerged as the 2nd runner-up in this competition. Our students made their own way to TARUC early morning as the competition started at 8 a.m. on 2nd August 2018. Their determination to compete was commendable while some rushed back in the afternoon for their classes.
