IEEE Malaysia Section Best FYP Competition - Mechatronics Runner-up
The 6th Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (IEEE) Malaysia Section Final Year Project Competition was launched on the 15th of July 2019 and was open to all universities in Malaysia. This competition was co-organised by University Putra Malaysia and was supported by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education. This year’s edition saw an increase in the number of participating technical tracks to 19. As a result, the competition attracted a total of 380 submissions - the highest recorded for the competition to-date. There were 56 winners across all the technical tracks. Fourth year student Srivardhini Veeraragavan submitted her Final Year Project poster/work titled “Parkinson's Disease Diagnosis and Severity Assessment using Machine Learning” to two tracks in the competition: (1) Rehabilitation & Biomedical Engineering, and (2) Recent Trends in Computational Engineering. She emerged as the 2nd runner-up in both tracks. Srivardhini Veeraragavan is a Mechatronics Engineering student whose Final Year Project was supervised by Dr. Alpha Agape Gopalai.
